Battlefield 6 Achieves Record-Breaking Launch with 7 Million Copies Sold

Electronic Arts has announced that Battlefield 6 achieved a monumental launch, selling over 7 million units and marking the most successful debut in the history of the Battlefield franchise.

These impressive sales figures corroborate earlier analyst predictions this week, which estimated approximately 7 million copies sold, positioning its launch performance close to that of a Call of Duty title.

Rhys Elliott of Anliena Analytics commented on the strong performance, stating, “It`s closer to Call of Duty-tier numbers than any of EA`s premium-shooter efforts so far. But the question now is whether or not EA can foster this successful launch into a platform that stands the test of time.”

On the Steam platform, Battlefield 6 has demonstrated exceptional popularity, recording a peak of over 747,000 concurrent players. This achievement surpasses all other EA titles on Steam, including the highly successful free-to-play game Apex Legends, which peaked at 624,000 concurrent users.

The first season of Battlefield 6 is set to commence on October 28, reportedly coinciding with the introduction of the game`s battle royale mode. Following this, Season 1 will feature Phase 2, “Rogue Ops,” starting November 18, and conclude with “Winter Offensive” on December 9. These planned updates are expected to enrich the game with new maps, gameplay modes, and weapons.

Despite this impressive initial success, it remains uncertain whether Battlefield 6 will manage to outsell a Call of Duty title, a feat it has never achieved before. Pre-launch expert analyses indicated that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was expected to surpass EA`s offering in sales.
