Actor Anthony Mackie, known for “Twisted Metal” and his role as Captain America, prefers classic video games over modern shooters.
While on the “Twisted Metal” set in Toronto, Mackie told GameSpot he doesn`t enjoy contemporary “run and gun” games. Instead, he opts for titles like Ms. Pac-Man and The Simpsons Arcade Game.
In August 2024, he even purchased an original The Simpsons Arcade Game machine.
“I found a guy who said, `If you buy it and it breaks, I`ll come to your house and fix it,`” Mackie shared. “I love old games like that. I`m a pinball enthusiast; I adore old-school Atari and Nintendo games. New [stuff] just isn`t for me. I`m 45, and I`m not that angry [at life to play them].”
The “Twisted Metal” series is an adaptation of Sony`s game franchise. Samoa Joe, who plays Sweet Tooth, mentioned he has played all the games in the series and considers 2001`s Twisted Metal Black his favorite due to its “dark” and “cool” tone, as well as its music.
Samoa Joe also noted that his Steam game library is “far too big,” and he`s nowhere close to clearing his backlog.
He joked that he might eventually play “Fire Engine Simulator 4000,” having received a code from a major publisher that grants him access to all their games on Steam.
“Twisted Metal” Season 2 is set to premiere on Peacock on July 31.
