Amazon Is Overhauling Its Luna Gaming Service, Here’s What’s Changing

Amazon`s Luna cloud gaming service, now in its third year, is set for a significant transformation. The company has recently announced comprehensive plans to enhance the Luna experience later this year, introducing exciting new social features and a substantial expansion to its game library.

A highlight of the Luna redesign is the introduction of “GameNight,” a collection of multiplayer-focused games that players can control directly with their cell phones. This unique offering will include digital adaptations of beloved classic board games like Taboo and Clue, popular party games such as Exploding Kittens, and innovative new titles. Among these is “Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg,” where players will strategically craft narratives and shift blame to convince Judge Snoop Dogg to rule in their favor.

The game selection available for streaming on Luna will also see a considerable increase as part of this overhaul. Notable upcoming additions include “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle,” “Kingdom Come: Deliverance II,” and “Dave the Diver.” Furthermore, Luna Premium members will gain access to an even wider array of games, featuring popular titles like “Lego DC Super-Villains,” “Team Sonic Racing,” and “Batman: Arkham Knight.”

Amazon Luna officially launched in March 2022, following an initial “soft launch” trial period that began in October 2020. The service is accessible to subscribers across various devices, including tablets, smartphones, PCs, and smart TVs. Players have the flexibility to use any Bluetooth-enabled controller for gameplay, though Amazon did release a dedicated Luna controller just before the service`s soft launch in October 2020.
