A Nightmare on Elm Street: 7-Film Collection Arrives in Glorious 4K

The iconic “A Nightmare on Elm Street” horror franchise is now available in a stunning 4K Blu-ray collection, just in time for the spooky season. While Wes Craven`s original 1984 film received a standalone 4K release last year, this new 7-Film Collection marks the first time the entire classic slasher saga has been restored and presented in glorious 4K resolution.

The collection was launched on September 30th, priced at $97 on Amazon, and includes both 4K Blu-ray and Movies Anywhere digital versions of all seven films:

  • A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984): Theatrical & Uncut versions
  • Freddy`s Revenge (1985)
  • Dream Warriors (1987)
  • The Dream Master (1988)
  • The Dream Child (1989): Theatrical & Uncut versions
  • Freddy`s Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991)
  • Wes Craven`s New Nightmare (1994)

Notably, the set includes Wes Craven`s New Nightmare from 1994, a film that humorously reimagines Freddy as a fictional character within a movie franchise, even though the original series technically concluded with “Freddy`s Dead: The Final Nightmare” in 1991.

All seven films boast native 4K (2160p) resolution with HDR10 support, ensuring a visually rich experience. For audio, the collection provides immersive options including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD 7.1, and DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0.

A nostalgic bonus found within the box is a pair of 3D glasses, specifically included for certain segments in Freddy`s Dead: The Final Nightmare.

Beyond the main features, the collection offers uncut versions of the original film and “The Dream Child,” alongside all the special features previously available on the standard Blu-ray editions. It`s important to note that these bonus materials are presented in 1080p resolution and do not support HDR.

For collectors, an Amazon-exclusive Steelbook Library Collection was also released. This limited edition featured unique steelbook cases for each movie, housed in a large metal display case, and included a numbered certificate of authenticity. However, this highly sought-after edition quickly sold out and is not expected to be restocked.
